2018 Gene Adams Memorial Regatta
The weekend of September 28-30, 2018 a group of San Juan 21 sailors from Fleet 1 and beyond gathered together at the Des Moinse Marina for a some racing, some partying, some story telling, and to pay tribute to our friend and mentor Gene Adams. It was a truly fantastic event with a solid 11 boat turnout including Fleet 1 regulars (and not-so-regulars) as well as visitors from eastern Washington and Canada. Gene's family was represented by his widow Liz and son Chris who brought and raced Gene's venerable PGS Juan.
At the close of the event we awarded both the new Gene Adams Memorial Regatta perpetual trophies as well as trophies for the San Juan 21 Northwest Championship in both Working Sails and All Sails classes - see regatta results below. It was a great inaugural regatta sure to become an annual event not to be missed!
